Nutrition and Exercise Physiology

Overview

Located at WSU Spokane, the Nutrition and Exercise Physiology (NEP) program is the only research program in the state of Washington offering course work integrating nutrition with experimental and clinical exercise physiology.

There are several factors that distinguish the program from strictly exercise science or human nutrition. Primary among these is the interdisciplinary examination of the multiple influences on an individual's’ health, using benchmarks garnered from several perspectives, including biological, nutritional, social/psychological, environmental, and clinical input.
