Pharmacology/Toxicology

Application Deadline: January 10 for Fall semester

Early applications are strongly encouraged.
Applications will be reviewed once they are complete.
Consideration for assistantships will continue until all assistantships have been assigned.
Applications received after January 10 are not guaranteed full consideration for the Fall semester.

A completed application to the Pharmacology/Toxicology (P/T) Graduate Program has:

  • A completed online application with The Graduate School. This includes payment of the $50 admissions fee.
  • Application for Assistantship -- Ph.D. applicants are eligible for department assistantship support. (contained in the application process above as an option)
  • Three references and their contact information. (also requested at time of application)
  • All official college transcripts.
  • Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores (subject scores are optional).  (institution code: 4705; no dept code is necessary.)
  • Official TOEFL score (minimum 600 score on the paper-based test OR 250 if computer-based test) OR 100 on Internet based score for students whose first language is not English.
  • Brief letter describing your research interests and career goals, and how those relate to why you wish to study in the P/T Graduate Program. Please also include any research experiences you have had. This letter should be uploaded with your online application in either a .doc or .pdf format.

P/T Graduate Program Course Prerequisites - Students should have taken the following two (2) courses before beginning their graduate studies in order to avoid taking undergraduate courses as deficiencies upon their arrival:
1. An undergraduate statistics course; and
2. A 300-level (or higher) organ/mammalian physiology course.
