Financial support is offered separately from admittance to the program and is made on an individual basis. The stipend salary for 12 months is over $20,520. Tuition waivers for in -state and out-of-state are also offered to teaching and research assistants and medical insurance is a benefit that comes with the assistantship. Teaching assistants are expected to devote part of their time to instructing or aiding in undergraduate education. Research assistants may devote their entire efforts to course work and to their own research projects.

Out-of-state waivers are awarded for a maximum of 1 year for out-of-state U.S. citizens working toward the Ph.D. and 4 years for international students. After that time, these waivers may be awarded, but cannot be guaranteed. At the present time, if you receive the maximum waiver, you are responsible for a payment of $601.00 per semester. ($288.50 is for activity/building fees, $90.50 is for residual tuition fees, $120 for Student Rec Center, $87 for Health & Wellness fee, and $15 in bus).
Housing - Many rental units are available on campus for both single and married students or in neighborhoods within walking distance of WSU. Rental units are leased on a first come basis and students should inquire about housing immediately after acceptance.
