Health & Fitness Clinic

In the clinic, students work with participants starting in late October and continuing through spring. When you sign up with a supervised student clinician in the Health and Fitness Clinic you may participate in one or all of these three areas:

2. Group Lifestyle Balance™

  • Evidence based lifestyle intervention
  • Learn about healthy eating and exercise
  • Track physical activity and weight loss

 Cost of the Group Lifestyle Balance™  for a 12-week session is $60 to  cover supplies.



3. One-on-One Lifestyle Coaching

  • FREE individualized visits
  • Nutrition and physical fitness assessment
  • Education for nutrition recommendations and exercise prescription

Keep pursuing health with NEP students

The goal of the clinic is to help you take steps to reduce your risk factors for chronic disease, such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease by improving eating habits and increasing physical activity.


2014 Table-top Nutrition Program for Type 2 Diabetes

This is a 2-hour, free, interactive nutrition education program that shows you how to develop healthy eating habits and gain further understanding of how food and activity aid in controlling blood sugar and promoting overall health. All classes held from 10:00 – 11:50.

The Table Top Nutrition Class schedule: (attend one class)
February 3, 19, March 3, 12, 31, April 16

In addition, two, free activity classes are available with medical clearance from your primary care provider.

The Strength and Flexibility Class schedule: (attend as often as you can)
February 19, March 3, 12, 31, April 16
All classes are held from 11:00 – 11:50

The Walking Program schedule: (attend as often as you can)
February 19, March 3, 12, 31, April 16
All classes held from 10:30 – 11:00

Also available are one-to-one follow-ups, scheduled throughout the semester during the NEP Clinic hours. Work with a student to further develop an individualized exercise program or a healthy eating plan

  • Go up the steps and through the front entrance.
  • Go up to the third floor to Room 308.

Driving directions from I-90

  • Take the Hamilton St Exit (Exit 282 from eastbound I-90; exit 282A from westbound I-90).
  • At the traffic light, turn left onto E Spokane Falls Blvd.
  • Just after the bridge across the Spokane River, make a right onto N Riverpoint Boulevard, which runs through campus.
