Pharmacology/Toxicology Program

Graduate students in the pharmacology/toxicology program publish papers and make presentations on a variety of interdisciplinary laboratory research projects. Some of the most recent involve alcohol consumption and its effect on viral hepatitis, dioxin and its effect on the immune system, serotonin and stress and how they affect eating disorders. Many of the faculty in the pharmacology/toxicology program are doing research in the areas of cancer biology, immunology, general pharmacology and other related areas. For a more detailed look at the work underway, click here.

Pharmacotherapy clinical research

Geriatrics research team

A core group of four in the Department of Pharmacotherapy are collaborating with other WSU faculty and health care professionals in research involving the geriatric population. Read about the research team here.

Nutrition and Dietetics research

Exercise Sciences research

Faculty in exercise physiology and metabolish are studying the effects of exercise on human health conditions. More information is available on their research here.


Cancer Prevention & Research Center

The CPRC is an umbrella organization for cancer research being conducted at WSU. CPRC is working with health care providers in Spokane to take some of the research from the laboratory to clinic trials. Go to the CPRC Web site for more details.

USTUR

Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

This annual research program provides hands-on research experience for undergraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding scientific aptitude and an interest in a research career in the biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences.

Applications are accepted each year in February and March.
