FAQ: Student Computer Labs

Location: Wegner Hall G53 & 250, Riverpoint HSB 212A

How do I get more toner, paper or report problems?

If you need more paper/toner in the Wegner Labs, you can use the phone in the lab to call us at 5-0360, you can visit Wegner 249 or email tech@mail.pharmacy.wsu.edu.. In Spokane, the main lab contacts are Terri and Joyce.

How do I store files on the lab computers?

In Pullman, your files are now stored on \\diethylamide.ad.wsu.edu. Each student is allocated 750MB that you may use during your 4 years with the Pharmacy program. If you are over the allotted 750MB and you have MP3's or other large files stored on the server we will send you an email asking you to delete the files at your networkID@wsu.edu address. If you do not delete your MP3's and other large files, we will delete them for you at the end of the semester ( we will do our best to NOT delete any documents or course related materials). If you are not over the quota, we will not touch your files.

Additionally, there may be copyright issues related to the storage of files such as MP3's and other media files. Since Pharmacy does not own the copyright for these files, they should not be on our server. If you do not have a copyright for these files, the fact that they are in your personal directory can have legal consequences for you. We make incremental backups of your files each night so you probably do not want to even temporarily save illegal files in your directory.

Transition to Spokane

Once, you start using the Spokane Lab during your 3rd year, your files will be stored on the Riverpoint servers and available throughout the year. At the end of each year, your files will be deleted from the Riverpoint servers. The 2nd year students will probably want to copy the files they want to continue using from \\diethylamide.ad.wsu.edu to their Riverpoint storage space.

While you are in Spokane, you can continue to use your \\diethylamide.ad.wsu.edu storage space as long as you do not exceed your quota. After you graduate, your files will be removed from all of the servers.
