Overview

This document covers issues related to the use of the Pharmacy Student Computer Labs. Pharmacy Information Systems feels it is important that we keep open lines of communication. From most of the reports we have received, the labs are working well. Please do not hesitate to contact Pharmacy Information Systems with suggestions you may have for making them work even better.

There are some issues that need to be addressed: Some of these issues are related to you working together as Pharmacy students, some are related to helping us run the labs efficiently and others are related to making expectations clear. Please keep in mind these three inter-related issues as you read this document.

Purpose of the computer labs

The computer labs are provided so that Pharmacy students can efficiently pursue their degrees and Pharmacy careers.

We had some complaints from students that other students are using the labs for very personal uses - including shopping – while other students are waiting to use the labs. If there are other students waiting to use the lab, it would seem polite to focus on important Pharmacy related uses.

We have also had reports, that students have visited websites with adult content while using the lab computers. Please remember, use of WSU computing and networking resources and facilities for academic purposes is a privilege for students. Abuse or improper use can result in possible referral for conduct code violation(s). Find more information at:
http://www.conduct.wsu.edu/docs/StandardsOfConductForStudents.pdf
It is not ok for you to provide access to the computer labs, printers, computers and network resources to non-Pharmacy students. The Pharmacy computer labs and equipment are for use by Pharmacy students only. There are public computers available in the University Libraries (including the Wegner Health Sciences Library) and City of PulIman Library.

It is recommended that you be careful when using university resources so that you do not jeopardize your Pharmacy degree and potential career.
