Overview

The ever-expanding fields of human nutrition encompass a wide range of careers in food-related work, the nation's largest occupational sector. At Washington State University, Human Nutrition is recognized for excellence in both undergraduate and graduate education for individuals interested in these fields. You can work side by side with faculty who care about your success and academic experience.

Our goal within the department is to equip the student with the skills necessary to make their dream career a reality. Courses deal with the broad range of interests and concerns which center around the processing, manufacture, safety and distribution of food; the preparation and serving of food; and the nutritional properties of food as related to the needs of people in health and sickness. Students completing degrees in any of the degrees offered in the department of Human Nutirition are highly sought offer by employers.

Bachelor of Science
in Human Nutrition

The department offers options to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition. The undergraduate courses of study within this degree which prepare students for food-related careers are:
